A Community Champion is a person who collaborates with a variety of partners to strengthen school, business, and non-profit relationships for the benefit of the community and our students.
Congratulations to Canaan Elementary School's Winter Community Champion, Jess Bernier!
Ms Jess has supported events like Trunk or Treat and Volunteers Make a Wish, always stepping in wherever needed. She encourages family involvement and builds strong connections with our local library, helping to create a true sense of community that extends beyond the classroom walls. At our gingerbread house event, she even dressed up as a gingerbread man, fully embracing the fun and creating lasting memories for our students and families. That’s who she is — all in, every time.
Her commitment doesn’t stop at the end of the school day. Jess will also be working at our Saturday morning Play and Learn sessions, supporting children ages 0–5 and their families in our community. She understands the importance of early connections and invests her time to make sure our youngest learners and their families feel supported from the very beginning.
Jess is calm, sincere, and deeply compassionate. She truly cares about children and families and always goes the extra mile to build meaningful relationships. She is a role model to her colleagues and a steady, positive presence in our school community.
We’re so lucky to have Ms Jess as a part of our team!
